Vincent just wants Kurei to keep his focus on him and away from the team. Can we, PLEASE, not make this a mess? If he hunts him down and kills him, then that would blow, but Vincent would come back ... Hopefully. But Gil would get upset and that would start a lot of shit, so he would really rather avoid that for that reason alone. So, yeah, Kurei is more of a factor than he is a person.
... At least, your team wasn't unified in killing my ass. :|a
I USED TO PLAY HIM IN CAMP and then dropped him when nothing I was doing was helping him get over the "have to get out have to go to SODOM and kill the jackass" thing. I was talking to ceesoo about it, and came to the conclusion that the only way to sustain him and play him from where I want to take him (on the road to SODOM, which is the furthest along in canon I can really take him from before everything happens too fast and then the canon ends) is to wipe his memories that he's in the middle of a mission.
Also, he's really pretty and has so many problems and I really adore him and his story and his sucky sucky life. Who he is in canon was so heavily influenced by all the suck that happened to him, and there are moments where you can see what he might've been like without all that suck and I really wanted to see how a memory-loss game would change him, since he'd be getting memories back in a different order than they happened and also team, which is super important to him...which is also a canon thingy :Xb at least the being loyal to those who are loyal to him part.
Who would you consider but actually never app at Fred and why would you never app him/her/it?
I never app its! Thank goodness! And I was considering Eureka pretty strongly, because I can't move her forward in camp without a Renton ... But there is also a lot of problems. She would come in as a blank slate that couldn't speak and so on, then she would get memories from all over! She could zig-zag from emotional competency to complete confusion over things like friendship or trust, kill anyone on command to refusing to fight completely, and so on. Plus, I am not coming up with a registry for a fifty episode series. Not no, but hell no. I would not have the time and energy to micro-manage her properly in an amnesia game when she's already consuming with only thirteen+ episodes in camp.
I WANT SOMETHING TO HAPPEN WITH NAOYA /)__x because I love him and...playing him...but he's sort of in a state where things don't really happen--which is good ICly but is kind of boring OOCly sobsob. And, uh. I was going to say conflict with Kurei but I seem to have fell into that :Db
Uhh . . . I'm not really running into snatches with them out of character! In character, there's a hilarious conflict with Vincent and his team that I just giggle at. The people he does like on his team don't realize that he does have a small amount of dere that even he had to admit to, but the love is over and he is better now. Naoto will pop when she gets a strong Fuyumine memory, but I already have a plan for that whenever it should happen.
cobbled together from various other times I talked about the series!
the first volume's about this kid named Izumi who is mistaken for another Izumi (who I will now call Other Izumi). Other Izumi is the number one at a ~club~ that caters to very...rich...and usually high-profile men. The dude that mistook Izumi for Other Izumi is the owner's close friend and then they had sex before he realized that he just deflowered some homophobic kid. ...They have antics and Izumi is forever and ever tsundere about admitting he is all raburabu towards this dude.
IN VOLUME TWO you meet Naoya. ...Desite the fact that he isn't in v1 at all, he and the afore-mentioned owner of the afore-mentioned club are the closest to "main characters" Love Mode will ever get. NAOYA'S LIFE SUCKS. A LOT.
He was part of a very happy family until everyone except for him is killed in a car accident on his birthday when he was 13 and no one wanted to take him in. Though one of his dad's former colleagues took legal guardianship of him, Naoya was on his own. Sometime around when he was sixteenish, he was leaving the afore-mentioned dad's former colleague's building after said colleague's wife told him they didn't want to be his guardians anymore (even if they hadn't done much of anything). He met Aoe-san (THE OWNER OF AFORE-MENTIONED CLUB) when Aoe's ex-girlfriend tried to brain Aoe with a flowerpot and hit Naoya instead since she lived in the same building as colleague dude.
Said flowerpot was plastic and the soil inside was dry so Naoya just got a bad bump on his head and was released from the hospital that day. When he got back to the apartment he was renting though, he found it in flames--with everything he owned, what little there was, inside it. Including his parents' and brother's mortuary tablets. Naoya freaked out, but really didn't know what he could do since he couldn't afford a new place and there was nowhere for him to go... So Aoe offered Naoya a spot on his couch; Naoya accepted for lack of better options.
...And then comes the adventures of Naoya and Aoe, with appearances from Izumi and Aoe's friend and Aoe's brother and it's really sweet and sad and I love it a lot. Naoya works through a ton of problems in the series as life keeps fucking things up every time he thinks he's happy.
THIS GORGEOUS FILM! If you like fashion or anything period related, then you should get up on it. It really manages to make her life more relevant to this generation. Also, Sofia Coppola.
AOE-SAN AND RECCA are the ones I want most for my two. Otherwiseee... At the moment, I am pretty happy being super selfish and just hoping for characters that would affect my characters |Da
Who are Vincent's top 5 favourite and top 5 least favourite people in Fred that aren't castmates?
And that's really . . . Uh!! Obsidian, Yuri, Ariel, Beatrice, and Shiki? I think that's about right, and I enjoy him having so many girls. Way to be, Vincent.
Least favorite would be . . . Yellow, Mukuro, and no one else really gets under his skin. They may be a nuisance, but that's kind of fun in it's own way!
Kurei! +Cubia, +Goku, +Alice... He's pissed off at Kazu and Percy right now, and doesn't really socialize with others. -Kaworu, -Vincent...I guess that's it. He...doesn't really socialize that much OTL
Naoya! +KK, +Asch, +Allen, +Mau, +Mal (+REST OF SAPPHIRE) aaand he doesn't dislike people.
Is there anything about your characters that you have a hard time showing because this is a text-based play? like...physical quirks or attributes or speach patterns or something...? (FOR EXAMPLE NAOTO'S SCAR MAYBE??)
Thankfully, I colored some of Vincent's icons, so I can get the eye difference across . . . Vince has a lot of body language that I don't play around with too much, but it would be a nuisance to keep throwing it in. It's generally loose, but he's definitely like water, so it keeps changing. Also, his sleeping habits are a thing . . .
Naoto's scar is a thing! But she keeps it pretty covered up, so it's not too large. I did toss it about once in Lion's game as that was the only time she had to loosen her shirt, because she needed to use the ribbon she had as a bow, and it didn't catch too many eyes. (It would help if I had a better icon of it, too. Icons are my enemy. o9) Also, text-based . . . It doesn't leave a lot of room for her quiet moments. She really doesn't say much, so her words are definitely concentrated. I keep her speech really blunt, and people seem to do alright with it, thankfully, but it's hard to give that quiet enough presence.
Subtle, or not too subtle, ways that your characters have changed from their canon selves?
Kurei is a lot more willing to show positive emotions and a lot less willing to go straight to KILL when someone annoys him. He's...softer, here, especially with his team. ...It's not really a change from his "canon self" since I took a lot of the characterization he started with from the chapter at the end when his problems were resolved as well as some from the part in the middle of canon when he thought he didn't have to fight anymore. It's just that because he's missing all the terrible buildup that made him who he ended up being for most of canon, the woobie that was buried deep inside is a lot more visible on the outside in canon.
Naoya is actually a lot derpier around everyone here than I thought he'd be. In canon, with most people, he's pretty :| and just really .___.;;;; when he's with the Aoe brothers. But I started him off with a memory of when he was with Kiichi, and he was REALLY DERPY in that and that influenced him a lot. His less-happy memories are helping him slowly become more sure of himself, as are the people he talks to here, but...yeah. A lot of the memories he's gotten back, if he isn't with the Aoe brothers, it's been with Wataru and he's noticed that he's a lot more...reserved with Wataru. It's mostly making him wonder if he's like that usually or if he's more often like the way he is with the Aoe brothers OTL.
NAOTO IS PRETTY ALRIGHT. She isn't okay with the entire situation! Some of these games/persona aren't cool, and the set-up is a little frustrating, even if she can see the rhyme and reason to it all. She's getting more upset at how physically disabled she is. She can't move how she wants, can't think of what she wants is, and has a brief memory of what was right. So, Naoto is stuck examining every moment in fine detail, like how she walks or sits, and she just . . . Doesn't know. The scar is actually the least of her worries, because she seems to have been in combat a lot; it happens! On the upside, she really isn't missing home or anything about it. I mean, there are trees here! And that's kind of awesome! She isn't too bothered by the people, except when all the boys hit on her . . . , and she can adapt to everything else. Like, the games aren't such a huge deal, because she had the run-in with Lion! So, she learned immediately where she draws her lines, and will now fight tooth and nail to have it Her Way. So, yup, she's doing a-ok.
Back at you on Ginshu. Also, before I forget, talk to me about why it took so long for Hermana to switch teams. I think I saw you talked a little bit about it on Plurk . . .
Look how I cunningly waited to answer this until the answer was not "PASS." Uh, she's getting better, I think. In addition to a fix-it thread with Bonten so that she gets some of it out in a healthier way, her threads with Naoya and Koumyou are turning out really helpful. She's still struggling, but I've got a lot more hope at the moment; she's probably never going to lean so heavily on her team specifically again, which is good.
Hermana took so long because of inertia and the fact that she was told very early on that this is a super-serious decision-- but it's never one she felt was super serious. \o_O/ So clearly she wasn't thinking about it hard enough! If that game hadn't happened, she probably would have continued being Onyx-in-all-but-name but might not have actually switched over. The game refocused her priorities and, yeah this is something that's important to her.
Does Naoto have any thoughts on the Onyx and Sterling divide (or nondivide, rather)? And will Vincent try to kill Alice again?
Naoto doesn't really . . . She doesn't like Maleficent, but it doesn't bother her that some people want to serve her instead of Beauty. I mean, it's not like Naoto has even meet Beauty. (HAHA.) So, she doesn't see any issue at all. She may develop something later, but everyone seems to intent to do their job which is the most important.
And Vincent . . . Can't directly touch her right now. Even indirectly, he would probably get caught at it. So, he's going to leave her be, but if the opportunity arose . . . Eh, he probably wouldn't even then. It was such a rash decision, and he learned well not to indulge in those. So, he will bide his time and wait, like he does.
S-Scale of one to ten, how bad did Ginshu break with Marie and Gojyo gone?
> Hilarious memory time with Gil! > Trying to kill Alice in the face! > Horrible fall out with Citrine!
... Yeah, he's not doing as bad as he could, but he also realizes everything is so very fragile right now. If he makes a wrong turn, then he could do a lot more damage than he has already done. So, Vincent is just exhausated, and he hasn't even done half of the damage control that he needs to. On the plus side, the Citrine blow-up was kind of positive! In that, if Citrine is going to nail Iolite, then if Obisidan is around, they're just as likely to turn back around and do the same. Still, he would hate to start into that. ... Yeah, there's a lot more calculations going on, but it isn't too bad in that particular area.
All that aside, Vincent has managed to settle down after the bombshell of his last memory. (He hasn't taken the Jack one, yet.) It changed the world on him, but it doesn't matter to anyone else. He had already set himself up to not be anyone's concern, even if he was acting strange or he got a bad memory—Vincent never wanted to be read. So, he had to ground back down to that, and he gives infinitely less of a fuck about everything. It's all just a matter of playing the game right. Though, he doesn't really think that keeping everything quiet is what he was at when he was older, but he hasn't had many memories at all of his older self, much less ones that would explain anything. —Clearly, he was so damn good that even he can't clue in to his own motive. Well done, Vincent!
Team continues to suck, Obsidian is my bro, Yuri is a thing, etc etc.
BUT DON'T YOU LIKE ME ALREADY? And, yeah, no. Vincent would totally not mind Excel being around at all. He would just need breaks every now and then, because he cannot deal with high energy people all the time.
CUTE. ♥ Like, obviously, she is way less adorable than, say, Kyouko, but she has a certain charm to her. She's tenacious, and he can really dig in and use that. It has its time and place, definitely! Unfortunately, it seems to have landed her in a sore spot with most of the team when he kind of enabled that, so . . . Whoops. Still, he'll keep her in his circle, because who knows when the winds could change and she could be everyone's favorite. At least, he's the guy who didn't change his mind. In a perfect Aather, he would have her coupled with someone near the opposite, like Duke, that he could tolerate to mind the team, but that just is not the way of it. Hilariously, she is one of the few on Iolite that he is not annoyed at in any way.
Jaina thinks Vincent putting Kyouko to sleep was just a little creepy, but she doesn't really get caught up on it anymore. It's a useful ability, and she likes practical things.
She's more worried about how slick he talks, and as a result if you asked her right now she'd say she doesn't really know Vincent. He's pretty much an unknown; she can't tell what his opinions are or what he's likely to do in a situation. She doesn't like it, but she's also not going to go assuming the worst about him.
Why is Vincent annoyed at other members of Iolite?
Well, Yuta flat-out told him to his face that he doesn't trust him, except not to hurt the team, which definitely hurts! Back when the team was still starting out, Vincent had a wealth of confidence and trust in Yuta, so it's not really cool when someone you like says things like that . . . But Vincent stopped caring about it. Feelings get in the way. Kyouko is . . . Well, she's not any less fun, but she has made it super-super clear that she doesn't really want to play along with him. There's still some cat and mouse, but he really does like her, gosh. It just happens that setting her off happens to be when she's most amusing. Yellow annoys the hell out of Vincent, so he will never spend more than five seconds if he must with her.
So, that's pretty much it! It doesn't really bother him, but it does help to reinforce the idea that the team is something he needs to use, not be a part of.
They're so young. Part of the problem Jaina has getting along with Iolite is because she has a little trouble not thinking as an adult she knows better.
Individually, Jaina likes Obsidian and thinks he is pretty awesome--partly because FLYING is awesome. She doesn't have a hang on how the dragon's thought processes work, and she isn't the twin to look to for that kind of thing.
Yellow is a cute little brother figure to watch out for. The picture of innocence. A bit of a liability if things get rough.
Kyouko is a little brat.
Yuta is an all right kid, but definitely awfully jaded for his age.
Aradia hasn't introed yet.
She actually really liked Duke, from when they did interact. He was a reasonable fellow and struck her as a rare responsible adult.
